R&D Trials - Farmer Demos
 

Each year the Mingenew Irwin Group involve the local farmers by asking them to host crop variety, management and herbicide demonstrations. These demonstrations are sown using farmer machinery, and are planted according the farmer’s own seeding rates, fertiliser and chemical use. In 2010 there are a number of different varieties being trialed, as well as a machinery demonstration and a new herbicide demonstration.

The 2010 Demonstrations include:

Wheat Variety Demos:

TT Canola Variety Demos:

2.       Sand – Allanooka Springs Rd

Roundup Ready Canola Variety Demo:

1.       Loam (Rounup Ready Canola) – Yandanooka

 

 

2009 Lupin Nutrition Demo (looking at different seeding rates and varieties of lupin planted in 2009 and the effects these treatments have on the following year’s wheat crop)

The demonstrations will be monitored throughout the season and the results published in the MIG research publication (Highlights of Farming System Research) in 2011.
